Catch a Glimpse: Staff Training 2014

by Janelle Fuller, Head Counselor

And we’re off!

Summer at Camp Marshall is underway for the 2014 season and we couldn’t be more excited!  We are finishing our two weeks of staff training and preparing to greet  Grace Campers .

Our staff is comprised of new faces as well as some returning staff.  (Learn more about our camp staff here.)  Over the last two weeks, we have been working together to build community  as we’ve shared meals, worshipped together, and, of course, cleaned the camp!  We bring different gifts to camp and are excited to use them to glorify God.

Highlights from staff training include…

First Aid / CPR training and Lifeguarding certification:

Thanks to Julie Sisler and Sara Hill, we have ten new lifeguards!

We give thanks for a challenging and full two weeks of staff training. We are eagerly awaiting  what God has in store for us this season.  We couldn’t be here without all of you and the many people who have come before us to make Camp Marshall the holy ground that it is.   We give thanks for all of the campers and staff who have come before us as we look toward a new camp season!

Back to the Prayerbook: “Back Pocket Prayers”

Anne Lamott famously ventures out of the house with a back pocket full of index cards folded lengthwise (“so they won’t make me look fat,” she quips).  The BCP “Prayers & Thanksgivings” offer some excellent back pocket prayers.  Today, I share one that has become the “back pocket prayer” of a dear friend.
