The Ninth Bishop of Montana
The Rt. Rev. Dr. C. Franklin Brookhart, Jr.
The Rt. Rev. C. Franklin Brookhart, Jr. was elected during a special diocesan convention on May 17, 2003. He was ordained and consecrated on September 27, 2003 at the Cathedral of St. Helena in Helena, Montana.
Born, raised, and educated in Ohio, +Frank graduated from Wittenberg University and attended divinity school at Vanderbilt University. He received his M.Div. from Lutheran Theological Seminary. His D.Min. in homiletics was conferred by United Theological Seminary.
Our bishop has served local churches as well as dioceses. He has been actively involved with community service organizations and also served as adjunct faculty for United Theological Seminary and Wheeling Jesuit University.
+Frank currently co-chairs the Episcopal-United Methodist Dialogue, serves as Episcopal Visitor and companion for the Anamchara Fellowship, and is author of Living the Resurrection: Reflections After Easter (Morehouse).
He’s married to Dr. Susan Moyer Brookhart, a private educational consultant and they are the parents of two adult daughters. Fun fact: +Frank is an avid collector of religious icons and fountain pens.
